March 11, 2021 Update - Phuket is a Sandbox?
The Tourism and Sports Ministry are discussing plans to open three Andaman provinces – Phuket, Phang-nga, Krabi – to foreign tourists without quarantine.
It would be done via a "sandbox" model, very similar to a travel bubble. meaning that vaccinated tourists from certain locations can visit designated Thai cities or islands without the need for quarantine.
Sandbox models can be started under the condition that 70 percent of the population in the area in question have been vaccinated.
